America, please make a change away from oppressing and restricting politics

Wow...I really hope logical Americans will stand up and not let a fundamentalist head case win this next election. As a Canadian all I can do is ask for the American people to seriously educate themselves before choosing a leader this year.

I've started getting interested in the American election more this year than before. I think its because of a few reasons, mostly being that our Prime Minister has a habit of being an American lap dog and following any 'suggestion' they give. I do think that American policies and interests have a big impact on Canadians.

When it comes to a Democratic candidate, Obama is the only choice. Although I don't agree with him on alot of topics I do think he is the most progressive and open minded option that could realistically win. He supports stem cell research, abortion and sympathizes with the LGBT community even though he doesn't morally agree with gay marriage. He basically believes that his religion shouldn't dictate the laws regarding gay marriage.

“It's a union between a man and a woman. For me as a Christian, it is a sacred union. God's in the mix…
… Historically, because historically, we have not defined marriage in our constitution. It’s been a matter of state law that has been our tradition." -
Obama speaking to Reverend Rick Warren (August 16, 2008)

The Republicans scare me. Looking at the options I fear a future of oppression and religious laws for Americans. As of March 7th, Mitt Romney is in a strong lead.

Romney is the best republican candidate in my opinion, but that's not saying much. I just think he's the most sane out of all of them. And he is Mormon, so he can't be completely sane. So far the only thing I strongly think he could help with in the states is welfare.

"Mitt Romney suggested that welfare recipients should go to work immediately. He suggested doing away with capital gains taxes for those firms that invest in inner city enterprise zones also advocated tax credits for hiring poor residents of those areas."

Santorum is the only one even closely following Romney in numbers. But he still only has 1/2 the following, which is very good. This man is a borderline religious extremist. He is the definition of my fear a republican controlled USA.

So many things wrong with what he said in the audio clip. He doesn't even know his country's history. Hey Santorum! the "Founding Fathers" were atheists that supported the concept of separation of church and state! I've read different articles on Santorum and they scream religious uneducated nutcase.
Religious talk or propaganda should be BANNED from anything even relating to politics. The USA was NOT founded on Christian beliefs. The founding fathers would be sick to their stomachs if they could see what has happened to their country.

"The 1796 Treaty with Tripoli states that the United States was "not in any sense founded on the Christian religion" . This was not an idle statement meant to satisfy Muslims-- they believed it and meant it. This treaty was written under the presidency of George Washington and signed under the presidency of John Adams." - Founding Fathers site

Santorum would be a horrible choice for open-minded, freethinking people and would bring us back to the morals of the dark ages.
Why Teaching People to Think for Themselves Is Repugnant to Religious Zealots and Rick Santorum

I find it extremely offensive that he equates same sex to adultery and incest. My bisexuality, my love of a women or mans body doesn't mean I would ever cheat or be attracted to a family member.
"And if the Supreme Court says that you have the right to consensual sex within your home, then you have the right to bigamy, you have the right to polygamy, you have the right to incest, you have the right to adultery. You have the right to anything. Does that undermine the fabric of our society?" - Santorum

The 'little guy' that I support but know won't likely win is Libertarian Gary Johnson. He is pro-choice and believes state and religion need to be separate. He supports the idea of legalizing marijuana stating that the current war on drugs is failing, wasting money and introducing young people to lives of crime. He used to be a supporter of capital punishment but changed his stance when he realized that there are flaws in the system and it could cause the death of an innocent person.
In his official site, Johnson's stance is:
"Stem cell research should only be completed by private laboratories that operate without federal funding. Government should not impose its values upon marriage. It should allow marriage equality, including gay marriage. It should also protect the rights of religious organizations to follow their beliefs."
"The parallels between drug policy today and Prohibition in the 1920’s are obvious, as are the lessons our nation learned. Prohibition was repealed because it made matters worse. Today, no one is trying to sell our kids bathtub gin in the schoolyard and micro-breweries aren’t protecting their turf with machine guns. It’s time to apply that thinking to marijuana. By making it a legal, regulated product, availability can be restricted, under-age use curtailed, enforcement/court/incarceration costs reduced, and the profit removed from a massive underground and criminal economy. Abuse of hard drugs is a health problem that should be dealt with by health experts, not a problem that should be clogging up our courts, jails, and prisons with addicts."
"An Internet free of regulation and taxation has produced innovation and enhancements to quality of life almost unparalleled in human history. If the market demands Internet services, speed and access, the market will provide them without any help from the government. The government, with its regulatory foot in the door, will inevitably end up attempting to regulate and referee content, speech, and commerce."
Anyway, when it comes down to the realistic view of who could win the election this year. I think Obama still has it but Mitt Romney will give him a run for his money
I personally believe Gary Johnson is defiantly the best choice America...but please do your own research and make an informed vote!

Puppy!

We purchased a puppy today! She is a bordercollie/yellowlab/bluetickhound. We've just decided to call her JINX. She is 9wks old and already so big(12lbs...ish). We drove 130kms to get her(3.5hrs both ways), just north of a remote country town called Bancroft. She's been home since 830pm and its now 2am.

So far she's been doing really well. She's curious of the cats, but smart enough to not get to close. Hunter (3yrs, not declawed), is a bit scared and curious, but keeps his distance. He is a fat orange lazy cat...very "Garfield" we adopted from a barn at 6mths old. Once Jinx fell asleep, Hunter spent close to 20mins watching and smelling her from a foot away.  I'm not sure how he's going to react to her in the long run.

Cloud (declawed, 4.5yrs old) is quite the princess and has made it known she is not happy. But I must say Cloud acts like a hyper spoiled princess on her good days, she has quite the spaz attitude towards everyone. I adopted her at 3mths old. She also is curious of Jinx, but in more of a dominant way. She was the first to get close and she swatted. I think with time she will actually be very close to Jinx. Cloud has lived with other peoples(parents, roommates) dogs before and eventually came to love them.

Jinx seems to be very smart. She's already taken to the paper training after only 2 "mistakes". All we did was put her on the newspaper when we caught her peeing. After just over an hour of using her name, it is already getting her attention. She already knows that her blanket is her's. She is automatically returning to it already to lay down.

I think we made a great choice when purchasing her. I plan to post more about her growth.

Why do I care?

The above picture explain exactly how i feel when debating with Christians online. Like I said in my last post, I've tried to stand back and let the religious be...but when they troll Atheist sites it pisses me off. I never have commented on ANY Christian site, why can't they give Atheist and Anti-theist  the same curtsy?

Many people (including some atheists) ask me why i bother to fight against religion. I wouldn't care so much if they didn't push politicians to push religious beliefs in laws.

Angry Atheist. How I feel about my views.

funny how, religious people go on atheist sites and call me an angry Atheist when I'm defending science. its an atheist site! i don't go on religious sites and tell u how science is right...i keep that on my own blog. sick of being harassed on atheist FB pages, news attacking atheists, etc… and people trying to save me because i trust science. A lot of these people are like…”why so angry?” ..why do you think? I’m respectful enough to stay of your sites…please do the same.

Ok, I vented lol. Now to the point..
I used to be even more bold...almost preachy with my Anti-theist ideals. My partner opened my eyes to the fact that there is a point in an argument, where you have to say to yourself "this person is not even listening or open to what I'm saying" and its time to just leave the discussion. I have never gone on any religious site/page and told them what I believe. But I used to think I could "free" people from religion. This can't be done on one experience. The person that needs to be "freed" through their own life experiences, and see that religion is false, and science is learning more all the time.

I'm getting to the point that I'm standing up for my ideals, maybe make my points known, but not pushing them. If some one attacks me personally, I will obviously tell them they need to leave it alone or I will retaliate in heated debate. But I won't be commenting my views on news articles or FB Atheist pages anymore. Will still post them here and my personal FB though. I will still post in full "ranting" force on here, everyone needs an outlet of some sort. I hope for more readers, it would be nice to hear other (peaceful) views on my posts/rants.

Pot Calling Kettle Black

Pot calling Kettle Black

Monday, January 9th, Pope Benedict stated that gay marriage is a threat to humanity. As a person of alternative life style, I find this offensive and a pathetic attempt at diverting attention. It seems as though the Vatican is trying to divert attention because of all the negativity it has received for child abuse cases and failing challenges against science.

Over recent years, more scandals and child abuse cases are being brought to light. There are so many cases of abuse (including same sex abuse) that I’ve lost track of them all, but I’m sure you can search “Vatican child abuse” and have a few days reading of news articles.  One of his key arguments is the “Traditional Family” values. I know same sex parents and heterosexual parents. I grew up in a “Christian home” with a very christian mother and VERY liberal father. The dysfunction was not less or better than any other human couple could do… gay or straight. No family is perfect. I can say that the same sex parents are just as loving parents as my family. The key thing is that the child has a supportive & loving home that encourages learning and growth. The Pope argues that children of same sex parents lack ether female or male guidance. I completely disagree. For example, a lesbian couple with a child can have an uncle or friend as a male role model for a son, or vice versa.

There are leaders of the Catholic Church are being helped in the hiding of their sick crimes against children by the Vatican. The Vatican likes to say it pro-life; I’d say it is more pro-control, and only now changing some of its policies because people are starting to see how out dated and manipulative the catholic beliefs are.

The credibility of the Vatican is waning. The Pope came out and said recently that the Big Bang could have happened, but if so… god created it. Are they now going to re-write Genesis? No, but they can’t fight science, so they try to manipulate it to “fit” their story. Millions people are dying of AIDS in Africa because until very recently the Vatican did not condone the use of a condom to save a partner from the disease. To this day, they still don’t condone condoms unless you are preventing transmission of diseases like AIDS. What about all the teens they tell NOT to use condoms? They would rather the teens abstain. I’m sorry…but most teens won’t, let us teach them to be safe before they regret it.

I’m not a professional writer of any sort and I tend to be bold with my opinions, but I will continue to write about my stance against the Vatican. Their out dated ideals are appalling. I just hope that more people see the human, godless tendencies of the Vatican sooner than later, for the sake of society’s children.

I'm a militant Anti-Theist. Bold, Opinionated and not afraid of questioning BS!

ok so I've been told by a few people that I tend to be a bit....bold/opinionated...some even say rude and evil... with what I say. Sorry I'm no politician. I will say what I see, how I see it. I want to raise those questions that make people think, even question their own deity bases beliefs. this is mainly because I grew up in a christian home and now feel (as Ruth from movie Paul would say) FREED! I'm free to think and believe what I want! free of worrying that some cosmic zombie wants me to obey him or else. Free to trust in Science!

Why am I anti-theist not just atheist? well because I think that religion is a main cause of separation and hate in society.  Without religion we would be so much farther as a species! why must we have a "father above" police us? can't people just be moral citizens because they are good people, not because they fear hell? With out religion, we could have world peace! The bible supports hate!

I know I can seem angry at times...i'm just passionate about my anti-theism. why am I "angry" when i support my views passionately ..but a religious person is considered moral and devoted when they are passionate? my views are based in SCIENCE!!

I recently subscribed to a site I think EVERYONE needs to visit.  Be free to think  at http://www.atheistunderworld.com/

I recently commented on that site:

"Why is it offensive when i politely criticize unproven common beliefs, but it "ok" for them to call us immoral/evil and intolerant. why can I be charged for "discrimination" for questioning them, but if they do the same to me they are "standing up for their beliefs" or "trying to save me". I personally think many Atheists or Anti-theist tend to be more tolerant than those who follow christian/catholic beliefs. I also was raised in a very christian home(did the whole christian school and youth group thing) and began to question things in my late teens. I tried answering these questions by looking to other belief systems, but none satisfied my taste for truth/fact."
